The above Blackmagic hardware both use the same driver. The newer HDMinI uses Thunderbolt 3 whereas the older Mini Recorder uses Thunderbolt 2 so it needs an adaptor cable (Apple's is best). I've installed the Blackmagic software and I can capture into Media Express without issue. I would prefer to capture into FCP X though. I followed the directions found in the Desktop Video Manual, but I cannot get Blackmagic to appear under the Playback settings under A/V Output like the manual says I need to (pg 21.)
